Joe is a phenomenal carpenter who had to
go back to school in a career change after carpal
tunnel wouldn't allow him to make handmade furniture
anymore. After getting his Master's at Western
Washington University, he decided to teach EASL
(English As a Second Language) there, and five years
ago went to Tokyo University to do the same. Since he
spends most of his free time back-packing or scuba
diving all over the Far East anyway, this job fills
the bill. Right now he is attempting to get another 5
year contract, either in Japan, or possibly in
Thailand. His girlfriend Aeh
(pronounced "A")
is from Bangkok, and he spends a good portion of his
travel time either with Aeh in Thailand, or traveling
and diving together. Also, as is fitting for someone
in our family - with a penchant for food
(and photography) - Aeh is an amazing cook
and takes nearly as many pictures as Joe, as you can
see from her sites. Some people just have a rough
